Wolverine taking out a Sentinel!!! This is something to break up all the “sexy” women I’ve been drawing as of late. One thing I know I need to work on is male anatomy.. it’s just hard to want to draw a guy when I love drawing women. Plus one thing I’ve learned while doing research on comic books, cover art, pinup art is that “sexy” women sale.

This was a fun project to draw. I really haven’t done an all out Wolverine drawing since I was a kid. So, to bring him back out and to draw him in a killer attack pose was a lot of fun to draw. While I was doing the digital inks on him, I did something a little different. I really pushed my mix of how I draw digital portraits and how I do comic digital inking. If you notice his claws are not perfect. That was done on purpose to give it a looser edge to it. I feel that a rough-loose lines in this this drawing with the mix of tight-lines mixed and blended well.

I do hope you will like this little break from the sexy women. Pencils vs Digital Inks

I decided that I wanted to show how my pencils look compared to my digital inks. I normally draw on smooth bristol board with 0.7mm mechanical pencil, staetler hb, b, b2, and f pencils, and a staetler drafting hb pencil. I digitally ink in photoshop cs5 with my bamboo pen using a normal round brush.

Who you see here is fan art from Zenescope Entertainment’s Wonderland Trilogy featuring Calie, the daughter of Alice from Alice in Wonderland. I’m a big fan of their series and I hope you will enjoy my fan art.

I love doing comic book style illustrations and I am open for commissions if you are interested in having one done. Feel free to contact me for further information on how we can get setup for a commission.

Wonderland - Inks by ~bluedragon82

As promised here is my Wonderland pin-up after I digitally inked it in Photoshop CS5 with my Bamboo Pen (I really want an Intuos5). It took me a little while to really get this one going. I was trying to find a true inking style that suited me. In the end I mixed my portrait style of shading with my style of comic lines.

If you compare the pencils to the inks there are several changes that I made. I felt that somethings needed a change. (i.e. Johnny’s “the Hatter” hat. I enlarged it and only gave you one eye glaring out from underneath.)

If you like this style I am open for commissions to draw comic style art. Please contact me for commission work.

One thing, I do love about posting to my tumblr… it posts to everything… HAHAHAHA!!!.

Joking aside, here is my latest in fan art pinups. What you see here is from the Wonderland series from Zenescope. Features, Carroll Ann “Calie” Liddle and her family. Her mother, Alice and brother Johnny. It’s a crazy twist to the Through the Looking Glass. I really enjoyed the comics and felt I needed to do some tribute to it.

Since there has recently been such a big response to my digital portraits… here is a teaser on my next one I’m drawing. To let you know how long it takes me to do this… for just doing the eyes it’s been about 45mins. (I’m slow what can I say… of course I could blame the fact on my little ones asking me for something constantly. I drew this in honor of the newest Spider-Man movie that will be coming out this year. It features Spider-Man’s first love, Gwen Stacy.

As I look at my drawing there are somethings I need to fix. Her arms are off and I need to do something with her jawline. I might have to shrink her butt too.. ^_^ I’m going to try and fix it up this weekend or this week when I ink the drawing.

The last of my main “team” cast. He is code name: Dan. I’ve now finished the cast that we will be following. Next will be more character development and just more practice on drawing them.
